NCS Meet Sanction Requests

July 9, 2021 by Bill Martin

The North Carolina Swimming COVID-19 Relief Program, which extended payment terms for LSC meet assessments, allowed adding incremental meets without Meet Scheduling committee approval, and reduced the required lead time on submitting sanction requests, expired on March 31, 2021.

As we transition back to pre-COVID rules, the sanctions committee added a temporary exception to the rule (below in red), reducing the required lead time for sanction requests on certain meets from 60 to 30 days.

The lead time requirement on all sanction/approval requests for meets with start dates between Sept 1, 2021 and Dec 31, 2021 is now 30 days.  Sanction requests include the meet announcement, order of events, and sanction fee.  Sanction requests that are not received at least 30 days prior to the meet start date will be assessed late fees according to the published late fee schedule.  Late fees for scheduled meets are $50  for intrasquad, dual, tri, quad and closed league meets and $200 for all others.  Late fees for unscheduled meets are $100 for intrasquad and $300 for all others.

REMEMBER: Meets added to the schedule (other than intrasquad, dual, tri, or quad meets) must first be approved by the Meet Scheduling (formerly known as Technical Planning) committee.  As noted above, sanction/approval requests for new meets added to the schedule must also be received at least 30 days prior to the meet start date to avoid the late fee.
