2022 NCS Spring HOD: Delegate Registration

The 2022 North Carolina Swimming Spring HOD will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center on Sunday, April 10th at 1:00 PM.  Only those attending the meeting will cast votes. There will not be a virtual option.

The HOD Meeting Schedule has been posted on the NCS website.

We will pre-register delegates to simplify the check-in process.

Please follow the step-by-step instructions below.

  1. Please declare your club’s delegates to Barb Frith by Thursday, April 7th .
  2. Please check the Delegate per Club Count List for the number of non-athlete delegates you are permitted to name for your club. Each club also may name one athlete delegate.
  3. Send an email to Barb Frith at pfrith@mac.com and include:
    • Name for each non-athlete delegate who will be attending.
    • Name for your athlete delegate who will be attending.
  4. This information is due to Barb no later than Thursday, April 7th.
  5. PLEASE NOTE that all declared delegates must be USA Swimming members in good standing on April 10, 2022. Please check your club portal for any membership issues your delegates need to address before April 7th.
  6. Delegates MAY NOT vote by proxy. Delegates must attend the HOD meeting on April 10th at 1:00 PM to cast their votes.

2022 NCS Open Water Zone Team Selections

Congratulations to the following swimmers for being selected to the 2022 NC Open Water Zone Team. 

Dates May 13 – 15.  Loosen up swim, and get use to the course on May 13th.

2022 NC Open Water Zones will be held at Camp Winona YMCA

Safe Sport Recognition/Renewals

REMINDER:

Clubs must be Safe Sport Recognized to bid on NCS Championship meets. 

After April 1, 2022, meets will not be sanctioned unless the host club is Safe Sport Recognized.

See NCS Rules below:

NCS Rule 202.1.6

Clubs bidding to host any NCS LSC Championship meet must be approved by USA Swimming for the Safe Sport Recognized Program at the time of the bid submission. Clubs should maintain SSRP status through the conclusion of the LSC Championship meet they are awarded.

NCS Rule 204.1.9

No sanction shall be awarded to a team that is not currently approved by USA Swimming for the Safe Sport Recognized Program at the time of submission of the sanction request. (Effective: April 1, 2022)

NCS swimmers medal at Worlds

Congratulations to Charlotte Hook (TAC Titans), Claire Curzan (TAC Titans), Katharine Berkoff (NC State), and Ryan Held (formerly of NC State) on their recent medal-winning performances at the FINA World Championships (25m) in Abu Dhabi.

Hook won silver in the women’s 200 fly with a scorching come-from-behind finish. Curzan took individual bronze medals in the women’s 50 fly and 100 fly (both were new junior records and the 50 fly was a new American record). Berkoff won gold in the 100 back (she and Curzan also scored multiple medals in relay events).

The first-ever NCS A-Team Camp was held at the Orange County Sportsplex in Hillsborough on Sunday, Nov 7th. Congratulations to the athletes who were selected to attend and thank you to the NCS coaches and NCS senior athletes who volunteered to help at the camp.

TYDE swimmer breaks NCS record

October 12, 2021 by Bill Martin

It didn’t take long for NCS swimmers to get back in the swing of things. The first NCS record of the short course season was set at the TYDE Andy Craver Invitational in Greensboro this past weekend.

Bodhi Cummins of TYDE set a new mark in the boys 10 and under 50 breaststroke with a time of 33.42.
