Y-NATS LC Championships

Ocala, Florida – NCS athletes and coaches from Hickory Foundation YMCA (YSST), Lowes YMCA (LOY), and Triangle Area YMCA (YOTA) are competing this week July 30-August 3, 2024 at the 2024 YMCA Long Course Championships. Special Shout out to our NCS Officials (Sarah Cinson -YSST, Katie Todd-GCY, and Chris Jung) who are officiating this week in Ocala. Friday, August 2, everyone paused for a Memoriam remembering the people we have lost who were a part of the YMCA Swimming Community. Long Time YSST Coach, Jon Jolley, was remembered for his commitment, dedication, friend / mentor too many, and his true passion for our sport. A legendary coach gone too soon. NCS Official Awarded at Y-Nationals

Congratulations to NCS Official, Chris Jung, as the recipient of the Connie Carroll award. Chris has served as a swimming official for 25 years. Highlights of Chris’s officiating career include: Certified YMCA official since 1999 – currently level III; Certified as Y Officials trainer since 2012; Certified USA Swimming Official since 1999; Certified NCAA / CSOA since 2009; Officiated at Y Nationals for 20 years in multiple levels and continues to serve all levels of local, state, and national YMCA and USA Swimming meets; and Chris was the 2018 recipient of the Phillips 66 Outstanding Service Award. In addition to her service officiating swimming, Chris has served multiple leadership roles in her community. Congratulations Chris Jung! #WEARENCS

YMCA Short Course Nationals cancelled

The following message was taken from the YMCA website:

YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) is committed to the safety and well being of all attendees at our competitive events. As such, we have been monitoring the recent spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) as it relates to all attendees at our upcoming YMCA Short Course National Championship to take place at Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) March 30-April 3, 2020 

Out of an abundance of caution, YMCA Short Course National have been cancelled. Y-USA has made this decision in order to reduce the risk to all athletes, coaches and families. We did not make this decision in haste, and we know that this news will be disappointing to you.

We will continue to share more information as we work quickly to expand on more action steps and respond to frequently asked questions. If you have immediate questions about this decision please contact aquatics@ymca.net.
