NCS Spring Splash April 13, 2024

SAVE THE DATE and JOIN US in Greensboro –   NCS is planning a one day LSC Spring Splash event filled with social and educational opportunities we want everyone to take part in from all across the LSC. What you can expect – Select Camp will be taking place with Olympian & Team Services Director- Brendan Hansen; Parents will have opportunity to provide feedback and learn with USA Swimming Team Service Advisors leading a couple social sessions for parents.  Coaches gathering including education, feedback, and opportunity to network and discuss with coaches across our LSC;  Officials will be hosting a workshop surrounding R-9 implementation and how to get others interested and involved, and much more including giveaways for those in attendance.  REGISTER TODAY !!!

North Carolina Swimming Hall of Fame Inductees – Class of 2024

March 2, 2024 – NC Swimming Hall of Fame Banquet took place in Raleigh, NC honoring the Class of 2024 Inductees – Kathleen Baker, Tom Brewer, John Calvert, Kathy McKee, and Eric Schwall with our guest presenter, Rowdy Gaines, “the voice of swimming”.
Congratulations to all the inductees, and Thank YOU for contributing your service, commitment, dedication, and talents to NC Swimming and USA Swimming.  We appreciate YOU.  Congratulations to the Class of 2024! #halloffame #classof2024 #wearencs

Good Luck to all NCS swimmers in college

North Carolina Swimming is sending shout outs of Congratulations, and Best wishes, to all NCS athletes as we embark on season ending Championship meets. We are so proud of all your accomplishments starting as an NCS age group athlete, and continuing to swim in college representing Divisions I, II, III, and many conferences around the country. “Champions don’t show up to get everything they want; They show up to give everything they have.” Good Luck to all NCS athletes around the country. NCS Officials at ACC’s

After 24 years of officiating the ACC’s we owe a special Thank YOU to Suzanne Heath, who is retiring from ACC’s. Suzanne says “I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with an outstanding conference, awesome coaches, and amazing scholar athletes!”

SwimMAC wins 2024 Senior SC Championships

Congratulations to SwimMAC Carolina, winner of the 2024 North Carolina Swimming Senior Short Course Championships held at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary this past weekend. SwimMAC captured the championship with 1518.5 team points. Finishing in second place was the Marlins of Raleigh (MOR), followed by Aquatic Team of Mecklenburg (ATOM), New Wave Swim Team (WAVE), and the Waves of Wilmington, Inc (WOW).

Team Awards for the Senior Championship meet are also awarded by Club Size.  Congratulations to the following teams on their amazing swims and hard work. #WEARENCS

NCS Senior Championships individual High Point Awards went to the top scoring female swimmer, Sofia Plaza (SwimMAC) and the top scoring male swimmer, Nathaniel Hohm (ATOM).  Congratulations to these athletes and their great swims.

Claire Curzan is a World Champion

DOHA, QATAR – World Aquatics Championships – DOHA 2024

Congratulations to NCS athlete, Claire Curzan, 19 year old Olympian and North Carolina native. Claire was selected as 1 of 14 women to be a part of TEAM USA’s World Championship Roster, and has been competing this past week in Doha, Qatar at the World Championships. Curzan was named Female Swimmer of the Meet, leading TEAM USA with her 3 Gold Backstroke Sweep making her the second woman and third swimmer in history to achieve the 50/100/200 Sweep of the same stroke at Worlds. Curzan also received Gold in the 4 x 100 Mixed Medley Relay, silver in the 100 Fly, and bronze in the 400 Free Mixed Relay. Totaling 6 medals overall. Way to Go Claire!

Claire Curzan has an extensive swimming resume within North Carolina Swimming, including numerous NCS State Records that remain untouchable this past weekend at the 2024 NCS AG SC Championship meet. North Carolina Swimming is so proud of Claire Curzan’s accomplishments on the world stage. Keep up the good work Claire, We are so proud of you! NCS is Cheering you on! #WEARENCS
