Plan Ahead AG Champs Spectator Limitations

December 22, 2025 by Amy Faulk

The 2026 North Carolina Swimming 14&U Age Group Championship will be here before you know it and will once again be hosted by TAC in Cary, February 26-March 1. This meet is the premier event for 14&U aged swimmers with over 800 swimmers competing!

In an effort to host the best meet possible and make it safe and comfortable for both athlete and spectators, spectator limits with a wristband system is a must and will once again be used for the 12&U sessions Friday-Sunday. This was instituted last year with great success.  At this time, there is not a need for wristbands for Thursday evening and 13-14 prelim/finals sessions.

Like last year, custom wristbands will be delivered to clubs with meet qualifiers once the initial entry deadline passes on February 17.  Each club will be asked to designate a club contact for these wristbands. The wristbands will be distributed to spectators in a way determined by each club. The number of wristbands received will be based on a percentage of overall meet participants.

Swimmers will be seated on the pool deck during the competition and are not allowed in the spectator area.  A visit by the local Fire Marshall in 2024 has resulted in the institution of this new process to control the size of the gallery. This is for the safety of EVERYONE. These swimmers work very hard to qualify and this wristband system helps ensure a smooth meet. Feedback from teams of every size was very positive and people worked well together so that everyone could see their child swim. We expect the same this year.

Thank you for your understanding and your efforts toward continuing to help make North Carolina Swimming the best!
