Mentoring

NC Swimming Officials Mentoring Program

NC Swimming Officials’ Committee has developed a program to provide additional mentoring and guidance to officials.

  • The program is voluntary and not required.
  • The mentoring process is intended for any official regardless of their experience level.
  • Please only fill out one form per official
  • Individuals requesting a mentor will be matched up with a mentor within a few weeks.  If more than a month goes by and you have not heard additional information after you submit the form – please email to zone2rep@ncswim.org

Please speak to your zone rep if you have additional questions regarding the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can you be a mentor and a mentee?
    • Yes, you can mentor someone and get a mentor for yourself.
  • How long is the mentoring relationship expected to last?
    • That depends on what the mentee wishes to get out of the relationship.  We would like the mentor and mentee to establish a comfort level that could be called upon in the future if other swimming related questions present themselves.
  • Is this only for new officials or can anyone request a mentor?
    • Anyone regardless of their experience level can request a mentor.
