World University Games: NCS Swimmers Medal

July 11, 2019 by Bill Martin

Former NCS Age Group swimmers Justin Ress (MOR-NC State) and Olivia Carter (EAC-Georgia) were among those earning medals at the World University Games in Naples, Italy. The United States closed out the final night of swimming with eight medals – five gold, two silver and a bronze. The Americans led all teams over the course of the seven-day competition with a final medal tally of 40 – 19 gold, 12 silver and nine bronze.

Ress won the 50 back and placed third in the 100 back. He also led off the winning 4 x 100 medley relay on the final day of the competition. Carter finished just behind Georgia teammate Dakota Luther to bring home a silver medal in the 200 fly. Ress’s NC State teammates, Elise Haan, Coleman Stewart, and Ky-Lee Perry also visited the podium. Perry won gold in the women’s 50 free while Haan placed second in the 100 back and Stewart placed third in the 100 fly.

Congratulations swimmers!
