Western North Carolina Open Water Challenge – September 15, 2012, Kings Mountain, NC

July 21, 2012 by Ronnie Roach

The Third Annual Western North Carolina Open Water Challenge will be held Saturday morning on September 15 on Moss Lake in Kings Mountain, NC.  This annual USAS event is hosted by Sharks Club (SAC).  Events on the beach entry and exit, rectangular course include 5K, 3K, 2K and 500M “sprint” sessions.  The layout provides an excellent spectator view of the swimmers throughout their Aquatic swim.  This meet is a good venue for beginners and experienced distance swimmers and beginners. Campsites adjacent to the course with special swim team rates are available (campsite contact: https://www.cityofkm.com/lakeoffice).  Additional meet information is available at www.sharksaquaticclub.com.
