North Carolina Swimming athletes were outstanding at the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships at Stanford, California. Several athletes made finals including a host of top eight finishes. Along the way, more than a dozen NCS long course records fell by the wayside (new records will be detailed in a upcoming post).
Among those with top eight finishes were Olivia Carter (EAC) 4th in women’s 200 fly, Catie Deloof (TE) 4th in women’s 100 free, Ashley Twichell (TAC) 3rd in women’s 800 free, Ross Dant (YSST) 8th in men’s 1500 free, 5th in men’s 800 free, Abby Arens (MOR) 2nd in women’s 200 breast, Kate Moore (MOR) 8th in women’s 400 IM, Claire Curzan (TAC) 5th in women’s 100 fly, 2nd in women’s 100 back, Eric Knowles (WOLF) 4th in men’s 400 free, 6th in men’s 800 free, Hannah Moore (WOLF) 4th in women’s 1500 free, and Julia Poole (MOR) 3rd in women’s 200 IM.
