NC Officials selected to officiate at Duel in the Pool

December 27, 2011 by Bill Martin

Don't we all look "official" 🙂

Four NC officials were selected to officiate at the USA Swimming Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool Dec 16-17 in Atlanta, Ga. The event featured the best swimmers in the USA against a strong European All-Star team in a dual meet battle for bragging rights.

Dave and Lisa Olack, Mike Hoffer and Wayne Shulby attended the event and represented NC swimming. The event was a college meet dual meet format.

“The meet was pretty awesome” says Mike Hoffer. “These are some of the best athletes in the world and it was amazing to be over the lane when they were swimming”, added Hoffer. The meet was contested using Fina rules and the timeline was determined by the television. “This was a new experience for me”, says Hoffer, “and it was great to be exposed to that level of competition.”
