The Carolina Crown Swim Challenge was held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center on Saturday, April 23. 150 swimmers, ages 15-18, from North Carolina and South Carolina clubs were divided into four teams. Coaches, officials, and parents from both states volunteered their time to make the event a terrific success. Dave Thomas of USA Swimming energized the crowd with some enthusiastic and colorful announcing. Athletes from the Ruby, Emerald, Black Diamond, and Sapphire teams provided thrilling races and fast times – breaking most meet records in the second year that the meet has been held. When the waves settled, Team Sapphire won the crown and each member of the team was awarded a Carolina Crown Swim Challenge towel.
