FREE ALL STAR CLINIC with Olympic Gold Medalist CHARLIE HOUCHIN
There will be a FREE swimming clinic for swimmers on the NCS ALL STAR LIST at the Pullen Park Pool in Raleigh on Saturday, September 22 from 1:30 – 3:00. Parents are welcome to watch from the stands. Charlie Houchin will be in Raleigh to speak at the North Carolina Swimming Awards Banquet at 6:30 that evening.
Charlie recently earned a gold medal as a member of the winning United States team in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Houchin was an age group swimmer in North Carolina before graduating from William G. Enloe High School in Raleigh. Both of his parents were All-American swimmers for North Carolina State University. Houchin attended the University of Michigan, where he swam for the Michigan Wolverines swimming and diving team from 2006 to 2010. He graduated from Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2010. He currently swims for IX3[sports] in Jacksonville, Florida.
NCS ALL STAR Swimmers, Coaches, Parents: Please welcome Charlie Houchin home by attending the FREE swimming clinic from 1:00 – 3:00 followed by the Awards Banquet at 6:30. Tickets for the Awards Banquet are $20 per ticket. Only those swimmers on the NCS ALL STAR LIST (not the TOP FIVE list) are allowed complimentary tickets. Pullen Park Aquatic Center is located near the NC State Campus at 410 Ashe Avenue in Raleigh, NC 27609 and is a short drive from the Doubletree Hotel where the banquet will be held.
