We have heard a lot of feedback about the meet page and the ability to easily find meets. Based on the feedback, we have implemented some changes in how we display meets.
We are offering three options for finding meets.
We feel by breaking the data into customized groups, current season, future season, and an archive page will make it easier for coaches to quickly see what is happening now, plan for the future, and find relevant information about the past meets. A special thanks to Richard Pockat for customizing the templates for each page.

In future Zone Meets, the Southern Zone will officially be including up to six swimmers with a disability from each LSC. The North Carolina Swimming Disability Committee has been tasked with developing a policy for selecting the Disability Swimmers that will represent North Carolina at next year’s Zone Meet. Once created ands adopted, the application process will be announced so that those interested swimmers can submit their application for consideration to represent North Carolina Swimming at the upcoming zone meet.

Here is the list of NC scholar-athletes who achieved Scholastic All American status for 2012-13.
North Carolina led the nation in the number of Scholastic All Americans and SwimMAC Carolina was the top club in the country.
Congratulations to all the swimmers – it was a great year in the pool and in the classroom obviously! The number of athletes who made the SAA team is up 11% this year and 77% of those selected had a 4.0 or higher GPA. It is humbling to honor these swimmers who work so very hard to swim fast and also make their academic endeavors such a priority!
If there are any questions regarding the team, you may contact Betty Kooy at blkooy@charter.net or myself. Special thanks go to the SAA Sub-committee chaired by Marvin Lanphere. The committee includes Betty Kooy, Terry Randolph, Mary Turner, Isabelle Fraser, Chuck Swanson, Ron Johns, Susan Huckeby and Jim Bowen.
Best wishes to your athletes and we hope the coming year will be a good one for all!
Sincerely,
Suzanne Heath

The 2013 NCS Awards Banquet will be held at the Embassy Suites in Cary, NC on Saturday, September 21. Special guest speaker will be Olympic Gold Medal winner, University of Virginia All-America, and former Greenville Swim Club swimmer, Lauren Perdue.
The event recognizes NCS TOP FIVE swimmers and NCS ALL STARS from the 2012-13 Short Course season and the 2013 Long Course season. A preliminary list of swimmers who have achieved TOP FIVE and ALL STAR status will be sent to coaches as they are compiled. The lists aren’t official until Sept. 1, when all long course and short course swims have been recorded.
At that time, a complete list of those being recognized as TOP FIVE and ALL STARS will be sent to coaches and published on the NCS website.
Online registration and a PayPal link for purchasing tickets will be set up in the next few weeks. Information on hotel reservations will also be posted.
